Tenute Lunelli wines honoured at Sakura Award, the prestigious Japanese wine competition

Three Tenute Lunelli labels win gold medals at Japan’s Sakura Awards. Aliotto 2018, Ziggurat 2019 and Pietragrande 2021 were awarded at Japan’s most important international wine competition with an all-female jury.

The Sakura Award (Sakura means ‘cherry blossom’, a symbol of both Japanese and female culture) is the second international wine competition with female-only panels of judges from the world of wine and haute cuisine. The intention is to recognise wines suitable for pairing with Japanese recipes that are cooked at home to increase wine consumption, as well as to promote, support and increase the number of women working in the wine industry.

Currently in its tenth edition, the competition now evaluates more than 5000 labels from all over the world. The significance of three gold medals for Tenute Lunelli, is certainly a confirmation of the quality of these wines and their ability to express the different territories of origin with elegance and versatility in such a way that they can also be paired with international cuisines.
