Tenute Lunelli brings Trentino to Casa Italia for the Paris 2024 Olympics
Villa Margon Trentino Chardonnay DOC 2020 has been selected as one of the 29 Italian wines that will be present at Casa Italia Paris 2024 in the wine list of Ensemble, the hospitality house set up in the Olympic village by chef Davide Oldani.
The selection was carried out on behalf of CONI by LT Wine & Food Advisory, under the supervision of Luciano Ferraro and Valentina Fanti, and is intended to represent the diversity and richness of the Italian wine scene. Tenute Lunelli’s Villa Margon Chardonnay is an expression of the Trentino region and relies on the Lunelli family’s significant experience in working with this grape variety in the mountain vineyards surrounding Trento for over seventy years.
The Villa Margon wine owes its name to the Villa around which its grapes are grown, an extraordinary 16th century mansion which is now the headquarters of Gruppo Lunelli, whose frescoes recount the long winemaking tradition of this area. Complex, fragrant and persistent, this pure Chardonnay opens on the nose with notes of apple, grapefruit, almond blossom and citrus fruits. The palate is structured, elegant, delicate and harmonious. The fruity notes are further enriched by a slight ageing in wood, which gives the wine a touch of complexity and refinement.
Closely linked to the territory of Trentino, but also present in Tuscany and Umbria, Tenute Lunelli are committed to producing wines that are an expression of the land in which they are cultivated, with great attention not only to environmental sustainability, but also to the enhancement of the territory, with cultural promotion activities and wine and food tourism. For Trentino, they represent a reference point in the oenological panorama, also on an international level, and to have been selected for this important event is undoubtedly a recognition of all their hard work.
Casa Italia in Paris 2024 will be a place of meeting and celebration for Italy and its sport. The reasoned choice of the wine list underlines the importance given to wine as a distinctive element of Italian culture and its ability to unite people at a time of great sharing such as the Olympic Games.
