Tenute Lunelli awarded '5 Grappoli' in the 2024 Bibenda Guide
Tenute Lunelli won the 5 Grappoli of the Bibenda Guide, the guide of the Italian Sommelier Foundation (Fis), headed by Franco Ricci, with the Carapace Lunga Attesa 2016 Montefalco Sagrantino D.O.C.G. and the Solenida 2018, Sangiovese, Costa Toscana I.G.T.
Now in its 26th edition, the Guide was presented at the Hilton Cavalieri Hotel in Rome on November 18th with an event where the 700 labels awarded with this prestigious recognition were tasted.
In addition to the two Tenute Lunelli wines, awards were also presented to the Ferrari Trento Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore 2012, Ferrari Perlé Nero Riserva 2016 and the Giulio Ferrari Rosé 2012.
The Solenida 2018 of Tenute Lunelli – Podernovo, from the hills around Pisa, is a pure Sangiovese that pays homage with its name to the particular characteristic of the soil in which it is cultivated, rich in fossil residues. The 2018 vintage of this wine is distinguished by elegance, freshness, a wide range of aromas and a remarkable longevity, characteristics obtained also due to the choices in the vinification phase that takes place partly in amphora.
The Carapace Lunga Attesa 2016, on the other hand, is the latest wine from Tenuta Castelbuono in Umbria and represents the utmost expression of the Lunelli family’s work on enhancing Sagrantino, transforming its power into elegance through long ageing: Carapace Lunga Attesa is aged for at least seven years and captivates with its finesse and depth.
Two wines that represent their territory in a unique way.
