Tenute Lunelli among the protagonists of the World's Best Sommeliers' Selection 2024
The Carapace Lunga Attesa 2016, Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG by Tenute Lunelli – Castelbuono has been included in the “World’s Best Sommeliers’ Selection” 2024, an exclusive initiative that brings together the best sommeliers with the aim of highlighting the diversity and cultural heritage linked to the wine traditions of various regions of the world.
The selection process was led by President Josep Roca of the renowned El Celler de Can Roca and thirty other influential international sommeliers, all from the prestigious World’s 50 Best Restaurants network.

The 2016 Carapace Lunga Attesa is, for the jury, a wine that interprets its terroir with depth and elegance. The tasting revealed earthy and red fruit notes, followed by hints of mushrooms and spices such as vanilla, nutmeg and cardamom, which combine with coffee and dark chocolate. The tannins were described as well structured, mitigating the intensity of the spicy tones. The wine has a long persistence in the mouth and great ageing potential. It is a wine to pair with strong flavours, with fine meats, with dishes such as beef cheek accompanied by grilled vegetables and mashed spinach or braised wild boar with sage, green beans and cayenne pepper.
The inclusion of Tenute Lunelli in the World’s Best Sommeliers’ Selection is further recognition of the dedication to excellence and the promotion of Italian wine culture that has always been pursued.
