Tenute Lunelli Solenida 2018, Sangiovese, Costa Toscana I.G.T. is Top Wine for the Slow Wine Guide

Slow Wine 2024 has awarded Tenute Lunelli Solenida 2018, Sangiovese, Costa Toscana I.G.T., in its new guide dedicated to wine lovers.
An acknowledgement of the best of wine production expressed by different Italian terroirs, which will be celebrated in a grand tasting on 7th October at Superstudio Maxi in Milan.

Tenute Lunelli’s Solenida fully expresses the identity of the hills where it was born, a place where the Tyrrhenian breeze and the soil of marine origin give this pure Sangiovese a unique character.

The result of a rigorous selection of grapes which is achieved thanks to the Animavitis project, which allows the various micro-zones to be harvested separately, selecting small, healthy bunches, Solenida is a wine of great character. Some of its grapes are processed in terracotta amphorae, underlining the unmistakable style of this Tenute Lunelli creation. Its name, a tribute to the Solenidae shell, recalls the characteristic presence of fossil in the soil, which give the palate a solid structure and a dense and vibrant tannic texture of exclusive personality. In addition, the 2018 vintage at Tenuta Podernovo of Tenute Lunelli was very well-balanced from a meteorological point of view; abundant winter and spring rains and a mild summer allowed the bunches of grapes to ripen perfectly, thus arriving at the harvest with crisp berries and pleasant fruity scents. The result is the defined elegant and fresh red wine characterized by a wide range of aromas and considerable longevity.
