Significant recognition from Wine Enthusiast for Tenuta Carapace wines
Tenute Lunelli once again stands out in Wine Enthusiast’s tastings, reaffirming the excellence of its wines and their deep connection to their terroirs of origin. The prestigious American magazine has awarded several Tenuta Carapace labels with significant accolades, which will be featured in the publication’s summer issue.
Tenute Lunelli Carapace Lunga Attesa 2018, Montefalco Sagrantino D.O.C.G., received an outstanding score of 95/100 together with the “Cellar Selection” designation. The wine is described as remarkably generous and immediately pleasurable. On the nose, it reveals intense aromas of black plum, sweet spices, liquorice and dark cocoa, while the palate stands out for its richness of fruit, velvety tannins and a succulent, enveloping texture.
The “Cellar Selection” mention was also awarded to Carapace 2021, Montefalco Sagrantino D.O.C.G., which earned 94/100. Wine Enthusiast highlights its elegance and complexity: a wine that opens gradually, progressively unveiling notes of black cherry, plum and violet, accompanied by nuances of minerality and aromatic herbs. The palate expresses balance, depth and refined authority, with ageing potential through 2045.
Tenute Lunelli Ziggurat 2023, Montefalco Rosso D.O.C., and Lampante 2022, Montefalco Rosso Riserva D.O.C., also distinguished themselves with scores of 92/100, further recognising the quality and distinctive identity of the Gruppo Lunelli’s Umbrian wines.
