Falstaff Awards Solenida 2020 and Teuto 2023 from Tenute Lunelli - Podernovo
Tenute Lunelli – Podernovo has received new prestigious accolades from Falstaff, the renowned international magazine dedicated to wine and gastronomy. In the Tasting Trophy Costa Toscana 2026, Solenida 2020 achieved an outstanding score of 93/100, while Teuto 2023 was awarded 92/100.
Both wines, Costa Toscana IGT labels produced according to organic viticulture principles, were tasted on 11 September 2026 by Othmar Kiem and Simon Staffler editors and wine critics at Falstaff Italia.
Made from Sangiovese grapes, Solenida 2020 stands out for its deep ruby-red colour with violet highlights. Falstaff describes its elegant bouquet as featuring notes of cherry, rosemary flowers and liquorice, enriched by hints of wet earth and orange peel. Both critics also highlight its juicy, full-bodied palate, supported by ripe tannins and vibrant freshness, leading to a long, spicy finish.
Teuto 2023, a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, displays a deep ruby-red colour. On the nose, it reveals aromas of blackcurrant, cocoa beans, wet earth and cigar box. On the palate, it is characterised by a juicy entry, mature tannins and lively acidity, culminating in a spicy and assertive finish. Falstaff also highlights its promising ageing potential and its expected positive evolution with further bottle ageing.
These recognitions from Falstaff once again confirm the quality and distinctive character of the wines produced by Tenute Lunelli – Podernovo, authentic expressions of the Tuscan territory and of a winemaking philosophy founded on excellence, sustainability and the enhancement of the unique characteristics of each vintage.
