Carapace Lunga Attesa 2019 wins Gambero Rosso’s Tre Bicchieri

Great satisfaction for Tenute Lunelli, which has received another prestigious accolade from the Gambero Rosso Vini d’Italia 2027 guide: Carapace Lunga Attesa 2019, Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG, has been awarded Tre Bicchieri, the highest recognition bestowed by the guide.

The award celebrates a wine that authentically expresses the character of Montefalco. Carapace Lunga Attesa is made from a selection of the finest Sagrantino grapes sourced from a historic estate vineyard that has been cultivated for over thirty years. Its name pays tribute to the Carapace, the Lunelli family’s sculptural winery designed by the artist Arnaldo Pomodoro and immersed in the Umbrian landscape.

The 2019 vintage, marked by particularly favorable conditions, produced a wine of remarkable complexity and elegance, with outstanding aging potential. Long maturation in oak, followed by extended bottle aging, enhances its structure, depth and harmony.

The Tre Bicchieri award celebrates the identity of Carapace Lunga Attesa 2019, a wine that interprets the great tradition of Sagrantino with personality and depth, fully expressing the value of time, patience and its territory of origin.
